On Saturday 27 swimmers attended the Mounties meet which turned into a v-e-r-y long day! The meet was an outstanding success for our swimmers with 4 gold , 4 Silver and 2 bronze medals being won and a multitude of PBs.
The record books were given another shake up with the amazing 11 yr old Samantha King setting another 2 new age records. Our swimmers also set another 20 new NCAQ top 5 times - some of which were actually 50m PB splits of longer events - eg Jake Griffins's 50m Breaststroke which was a 3 sec PB in itself.
Congratulations to Kira Hood, Samantha King and Christopher King who achieved their first State Qualifying times at this meet. This is a huge milestone in any swimmers’ life and we will celebrate it with you at Presentation night.
Congratulations to Christopher King and Metika Collis Glynn who entered the NCAQ Top 5 for the first time. 100% PBs swum by William Boland, Metika Collis-Glynn, Chris Hoare, Aidan McColm and Nicholas McRae. There were many new State Q times achieved (some totally unexpected like Jack's 100 Breast and Chris's 50 Back and Breast) and others that were always going to happen like to 200 Free Q times swum by Aidan, Lachy and Jake.
Lauren McKillop took 3 sec off her 100 Fly and will hopefully still get that State time. Alysha Lerond and Maddi Moyle had near perfect days with all but 1 swim a PB. The youngest Moyle, Nathan, has put off retirement to swim huge PBs on the day! Congratulations also to Hailey Lane who, though unwell, swam a 50m Free PB to go under the 35 sec for the first time.
Well done everyone.
