It just gets better and better! Our tiny team of just 8 competitors (all boys this year but I am sure the girls will be out in force next year) and 3 extra relay swimmers have finished the meet in 10th place in NSW.
Joel Walker, as always, has been a prolific medallist ( 3 Gold, 4 Silver 1 Bronze). Joel tackled the 200m distances this year winning 3/3 and had to miss a few events just so he could catch his breath given the fast paced program. Chris Hoare had a blinder and took out the free 50 (missing the record by .01) and 100 double. Our 10/u boys (Nick, Jarrod B, Tyler and Chris) won Bronze in the Free relay and 4th in the Medley. Our 12/u boys ( Oliver, jedd, jack, Joel) were 10th in the medley.
Jack just missed a top 10 in the 200 IM despite taking 4 sec off his entry time and Jarrod B just missed top 10 in the 100 Breast.
But maybe the biggest news of all is that after YEARS of hoping to get a team entered into the Fred Lane relay our amazing team (Jack, Jedd, Joel, Oliver, Chris, Nick, Jarrod B, Jarrod M, Connor, Lachy) swam nearly 3 sec faster than their entry time and won BRONZE !!!! This means that all 11 NCAQ swmmers had a podium finish at State - wow!
Thank you so much to our great team this entire weekend and to our coaches and our parents. This is a tremendous milestone for our club and reflects the enthusiasm of our training venue and the great team environment we have created.
YAY!!!
